Community Center Workshop
Community Centre Workshop - Turkish Mosaic Lamp Making | DIYLabs Ontario
DIYLabs partners with community centres across Ontario to bring hands-on Turkish mosaic lamp workshops to local residents. Our sessions are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and genuinely enjoyable for participants of all ages and backgrounds - a creative program that builds community connection while celebrating cultural heritage.
A Program That Brings Residents Together
Community centres serve as gathering places for diverse neighbourhoods. Our Turkish mosaic lamp workshop fits naturally into that role - it is an activity that works across age groups, requires no prior experience, and creates a shared focus that naturally encourages conversation and connection. Participants sit together, make choices about colour and design, and support each other through the process. The result is both a finished lamp and a stronger sense of belonging.
Whether your centre serves families, seniors, newcomers, youth, or a mix of all of the above, our workshop can be adapted to suit your community's needs and interests.
Flexible Programming Options
We work with community centre activity coordinators to design a workshop program that fits your schedule, budget, and participant profile. Options include:
- Single drop-in sessions open to all residents
- Recurring monthly or seasonal workshop programs
- Themed sessions tied to cultural celebrations or community events
- Fundraising workshops where ticket sales support your centre's programs
- Youth and family sessions with age-appropriate instruction
At Your Centre - We Handle Everything
DIYLabs brings all materials, tools, and equipment to your community centre. We handle setup, instruction, and cleanup - your staff simply welcome participants and enjoy the session alongside them. We work within your existing space, whether that is a multipurpose room, a gymnasium, or a dedicated activity area.
Our main studio is at 877 Alness St #16, North York, ON M3J 2X4, but we serve community centres across Toronto and Ontario.
Supporting Fundraising and Cultural Programs
Our workshops are a popular choice for community fundraising events. A ticketed mosaic lamp workshop gives attendees a hands-on experience and a keepsake to take home - making it a compelling draw for community members and a meaningful way to raise funds for your organisation's programs.
